WAEC exams suspended indefinitely due to coronavirus,
The 2020 West African Senior School Certificate Examination was postponed indefinitely. The West African Examinations Council made this known at an announcement on Friday. The announcement uttered WAEC Nigeria’s Head of National Office, Mr. Patrick Areghan, as saying that the exam scheduled to start April 6, 2020, was postponed as a consequence of coronavirus pandemic. Areghan stated the schedule for the exam could be evaluated after the coronavirus pandemic scenario improves.
The announcement ,”The West African Examinations Council at Nigeria, nay, the West African sub-region, has chosen to put on hold that the behavior of this West African Senior School Certificate Examination for School Candidates, 2020, previously scheduled to start on April 6, 2020. “This can be as a consequence of the effect of the publication and fatal Coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) along with also the serious consequences it has for its behavior of this WASSCE for college applicants, 2020, coupled together with all the anxieties it’s generated one of the people.
“This decision is a demonstration of their organisation’s concern and support for the many protocols being set in place from the Federal and State Governments of Nigeria and also the authorities of another member nations to look at the spread of this disease.”
