JAMB CAPS 2021 – Jamb portal login
This announcement is made to inform all applicants seeking admission to the universities/polytechnics/colleges/other tertiary institution in Nigeria that Joint Admission and Matriculation Boards (JAMB) have activated the Central Admission Processing System Portal (CAPS portal) where UTME and Direct Entry candidates accept/reject their offer and can also monitor their admission.
JAMB Admission Policy states that all admissions will be done online through the Central Admissions Processing System. Candidates seeking admission to Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges of Education in Nigeria for 2021/2022 Academic Session should visit the JAMB CAPS portal. This portal allows them to view their admission status and indicate acceptance or rejection.
The JAMB CAPS The Admissions Process is streamlined, it addresses the problems associated with the manual approach, restores autonomy to tertiary institution regarding admissions, puts candidates in the center and empowers them with information about available programmes and institutions, expands admission options, eliminates multiple admissions and provides easy-to-retrieve data for decision making on the Education Sector of the country.
Some institutions may not publish the list of candidates admitted into their various programmes on their own portal or notice board. So, admission seekers are advised to check JAMB CAPS to track their admission status continually.
PLEASE NOTE: Once you accept the admission, your admission quest is over as you will no longer be available for other schools’ admission consideration. On the other hand, if you reject the admission, you become available to other schools with free admission slots for admission consideration.

About JAMB CAPS
To automate the admission process into tertiary institutions in Nigeria, the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board created the Central Admission Processing System. It ensures transparency, quality control and credibility in the admission process.
The Central Admission Processing System, (CAPS), is expected to provide a market place’ in the JAMB Portal for institutions that’request students from Nigeria’ who have met their cutoff points.
Institutions can only accept those who meet the cut-off points. No matter what connection a student may have, if he or she fails to meet the cut-off mark, the student will be denied admission.
CAPS automates the process and is being used to introduce other innovations. These include:
- Candidates have the opportunity to confirm provisional admissions. This eliminates cases where candidates abandon admissions.
- Market place that allows institutions to source candidates from the pool based on various criteria, including JAMB score, state, local government, and even gender.
- All candidates for O/L results are required to upload their results to the JAMB portal in order for them to be considered for admission.
- Admissions can be processed instantly or in batches. Candidates can also check their status on the JAMB portal at any time.
