ASUP Strike May 16: The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) is set to embark on another strike with effect from Monday, May 16.

The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) has announced that it will begin two weeks of a strike warning starting on Monday, May 16.

This statement was made in a declaration signed by the union’s head, Anderson Ezeibe, and dated May 11 2022.

The statement stated that this decision was made at the 102nd emergency national executive council meeting that was held in Abuja on Wednesday.

The union stated that it was imperative to take the move following the government’s failure to take action on the Memorandum of Action (MoA) which was signed in June 2021 that led to the suspension of their two-month strike.

ASUP claimed it also provided the government a deadline of one month for April, to take care of its concerns however, the government did not heed its warning and continued with its activities in the political arena as if all was normal.
